Compliance Surveys

A compliance survey is a single snap shot visit of the healthcare premises. The visit is to show the current stage of the premises for the compliance of the areas in respect to all aspects of Medical Gases. From a general hospital with full piped medical gas installations to a single clinic where there may be only a single cylinder or a selection of cylinders all require to comply to certain safety aspect to ensure the safety of the staff, patients and to comply to the fire regulations.

We undertake the compliance surveys in conjunction to the site requirements and types of patients and requirements for each individual site. The main issues are always addressed and the survey will be supported with a fully explanatory report covering what there is where it is and how it should be and how it is.

A compliance survey is a tool to be utilised for the starting of the road to a safer working environment and in many cases cost savings and safer patient treatments. The role Medical Gas Services ltd have in this and the benefits this has for the sites we survey are endless and invaluable. Many customers were dubious of our attending site and undertaking compliance surveys thinking we were there to find fault and pick holes in the existing but were very surprised to see that all of our operatives are trained to attend site to provide a friendly and helpful service to aid the customer reach their goals in the safe working environments and achieve the optimum systems and safe working practices.

In the majority of cases where we have attended site not only have we managed to improve the safe working on the site, compliance achieved to the regulations and recommendations for both Medical Gases and fire but also enabled cost savings for the sites.

Many of our customers have used us on a repeat basis, some having return visits on a ad hock basis to cover their requirements and many have transferred on to a contract with regular Medical Gas audits to continue the controls and management including the introduction of Policy and Procedure documents, medical gas working groups and utilisation of the permit to work schemes in compliance with the HTM 02-01.
